Our Standards of Energy Saving Measurement:

Energy efficiency is recognized as one of the cleanest and most cost-effective "sources" of energy. However, in order for efficiency to be considered a reliable resource, its energy savings, including the persistence of savings, must be verifiable. If energy efficiency is to realize its full potential, facility owners and operators, service companies, consultants, contractors and financiers must adopt common technical, financial and legal standards that guide the measurement and verification (M&V) of savings and other aspects of energy efficiency business transactions.

There are many methods available to measure energy savings; however many of these use non-scientific practises and sometimes deliver exaggerated claims. Exaggerated energy saving claims causes great concern to Vanguards Power (VP) and its customers.

To ensure that the methodology and protocols of energy measurement is ethically and scientifically based, VP adopted the Efficiency Valuation Organisation (EVO) International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). IPMVP is the widely referenced framework for measuring energy savings. It presents common terminology and defines full disclosure to be adopted in compiling M&V plans.

EVO is the only non-profit organization in the world solely dedicated to creating M&V tools to allow efficiency to flourish. Their vision is a global market that properly values the efficiency resource, enabling and assisting the optimal investment in these opportunities. United Nations approves EVO IPMVP as a reliable measurement and verification of energy savings.

VP is an Associate Member of EVO. VP embraces and endorses IPMVP for measurements of energy savings and VP requires our Distributors to use IPMVP when post-installation energy savings are to be measured and reported.
